Evidence about the links between health and employment status

The English edition of  The Hungarian Labour Market published in 2021 focuses on the links between health and employment status, and includes some early analysis of the labour market and policy effects of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic as well.

BI researchers authored several chapters. In one of the studies published in the book, we review the labour market status of workers with disabilities and the role of demand-side policy instruments. In another chapter, we present and evaluate the 2008 and 2012 changes to the system of disability benefits. In a third chapter, we review the policy challenges Hungarian policy-makers had to face during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
