Lessons learnt from Kiút microfinance programme

Budapest Institute briefly summarizes the strengths and weaknesses of the Kiút microfinance programme as a contribution to the Local Economic and Employment Development programme of the OECD. The case study will be published in early 2015 in a compendium of European good practices about inclusive entrepreneurship. The compendium aims at identifying the factors that are necessary to successfully help the entrepreneurial activity of disadvantaged groups (e.g. women, young people, and minorities).

To prepare the case study we largely built on our former evaluation about Kiút programme and the summary written by the World Bank. The case study emphasizes the strength and weaknesses of the programme, the challenges encountered during the programme, the impacts of the programme and the conditions for transfer to another country or region.
