Are Central and Eastern European education systems able to adapt to new challenges?

The “Future Challenges to Education Systems in Central Eastern European Context” (EDUC) was a comparative research project of the Democracy Institute at the Central European University. The project aimed at assessing the ability of the education systems of five Central-Eastern European countries to adapt to recent and new challenges, such as technological changes and their impact on labour markets, population ageing, populist politics and autocratic governance, old and new inequalities, changing gender roles and globalization.

The research focused on the adaptability of education systems in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia and Romania.

BI contributed by preparing a chapter on the future challanges of education systems for the summary study of the country case studies.
