How does the online job advertising market reflect current labour market trends?

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) launched an innovative project to help policymakers, employers, and other stakeholders to get a more accurate picture of the labour market trends by analysing online job advertisements. This may give them a clearer view of how demand for skills, jobs and professions are changing, and enable them to better help jobseekers meet current and future labour market challenges.

The work was undertaken by a consortium of leading research institutions (the CRISP/University of Milano-Bicocca and the IWAK/Goethe University Frankfurt) and 28 country experts, including the Budapest Institute. The main product of this project was a European database for the period 2017-2020.

In a second contract of 2021, BI was also commissioned to update and extend its work, by finding new data sources and mapping labour market policy changes.
