The administrative burden on employment

The impact of red tape on employment is of particular importance in Hungary. The low level of employment and the closely related problem of the chronic budget deficit, along with the weakening competitiveness and growth potential of the economy provide a strong incentive to study all possible circumstances and policies that may contribute to reducing the barriers to employment growth.

The paper examines the Hungarian situation based on a corporate survey conducted in 2009 and interviews with a few high level actors in public administration.
