Developing the local community and economy

The Budapest Institute jointly with Autonomia Foundation has participated in a local economy development project founded by the Open Society Foundations. The aim of the project was to identify a number of initiatives that could serve as good examples in stimulating local economies and reinforcing local employment. The project attempted to map key factors of local economic initiatives, to identify drivers and dominant actors and study the role of governmental and civil subsidies and explore their added value. The Budapest Institute’s main role in this project was to develop the methodology of this research and monitor its implementation.
