Best-practices for a positive business environment in the OSCE area

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) promotes a positive investment climate and good governance in its member states. Activities in this area are based on OSCE’s multiple commitments and aim to contribute to and promote a culture of integrity and transparency, supporting the development of clear legal frameworks and fair regulations as well as facilitating access to (human) capital.

OSCE has reviewed its recommendations in this regard and, with the involvement of external experts, has updated and summarized them in a new “Best-Practice Guide for a Positive Business and Investment Climate”, focusing on OSCE member countries. The aim of this Guide is to present policy recommendations primarily to policymakers, governmental experts, and officials along with opinion-makers.

In this updated Guide, BI researcher Petra Reszkető provides an overview of the best international practices in the policy areas related to developing the business environment (Chapter 4) and promoting inclusive entrepreneurship and SME development (Chapter 5).
