Impact assessment of an EU-funded measure for SME development

The main goal of the project is to evaluate the impact of two components of the New Hungary Development Plan: the Economic Development Operational Programme (GOP) 2.1.1 and the Central Hungary Development Programme (KMOP) 1.2.1.

We assess the impact of the special interventions aiming at technological development of Hungarian SMEs by applying econometric methods. After selecting control groups, we analyse whether the SMEs recieving grants have better performance in comparison to the scenario when they have not had recieved the grants. In our assessment, besides evaluating the direct impacts of the programme, we briefly analyse the indirect impacts as well (e.g. impacts on the SMEs which did not recieve any grants).  The final report is available on this governmental page as well.
