Ageing policy and HR practice - recent developments in Hungary

Sponsored by Eurofound and coordinated by Rand Europe, this project aimed to illustrate and analyse the impacts of the sharp 2008-9 recession on the age profile of employment in companies undergoing restructuring as well as on their age management strategies. Specifically, the focus was on companies and organisations with a track record of active age management that have announced mass dismissals as part of a major restructuring since January 1st 2008.

The Budapest Institute was commissioned to prepare background papers on Hungary: a national report summarising recent trends and policies and a summary of two case studies of Hungarian firms with a track record of active age management.
