Transparify! – Our steps to develop our own financial transparency

The Budapest Institute joined the call of the international initiative, the Transparify, because we think that the financial transparency is important beyond the public sector as well.

The Transparify has just published its first-ever global rating of the financial transparency of think tanks in the world. They mapped and evaluated the websites of 169 think tanks in 47 countries to find out whether these institutions have provided information on who funds them and to what extent. The fresh 2014 report is available now.

We strongly believe that the financial transparency is very important in the government sector as well as in the non-government one. For think tanks transparent operation and funding are key elements to saveguard their credibility and independency. We have published our main financial indicators on our website, and we plan to provide further information about our sponsors later this year.
