Designing crisis-proof welfare systems

Ágota Scharle gave a talk about designing welfare systems that respond to the challenges of fast-changing labour markets at a seminar in Xi'An (China).  The event was dedicated to discussing the impact of the recent global financial crisis on labour markets and social inclusion and welfare policies best suited to tackle the new challenges posed by economic restructuring.

The event was organised by the Chinese Institute of Population and Labour Economics and sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, DG Employment of the European Commission and the municipality of Xi'An. Participants included researchers and policy makers from China and the European Union.
