| Description | On 26-27 March, we organised a research workshop at the Budapest Institute. The aim of the workshop was to create a forum for academic researchers and policy-oriented experts to have an in-depth discussion of recent evidence on discrimination against the Roma communities in Central and Eastern Europe. The programme focused on (1) data and methodology, and (2) policy implications. The agenda of the workshop is available (in English) below.

Ágota Scharle - Discrimination in childcare access 5.) Veronika Vass-Vigh – Discrimination in the housing market 6.) Pieter-Paul Verhaeghe – Regional differences in discrimination against Roma The workshop is linked to the EqualStrength project, which investigates discrimination and prejudice against ethnic minorities in Europe. As part of the project, we have measured discrimination against Roma people in the labour market, the rental housing market, and access to childcare in three European countries: Hungary, Czechia and Spain (2023-2026).
