Youth employment will also be highlighted at the "Labour Economics Research 2021" Hungarian conference in Szirák

18/10/2021

What is the result of the impact evaluation of the 90-day job trial programme? How does the pandemic crisis affect disadvantaged young people’s labour market prospects? These will also be discussed at the new session of the conference.

The Scientific Committee on the Economics of Human Resources of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Centre of Economic and Regional Studies, Institute of Economics will organise its traditional conference on labour economics on 5-6 November 2021, in Szirák (Hungary). This is the most important annual professional forum for Hungarian labour economists.

As a new feature of this year's conference, a special session will be dedicated to discussing the main issues affecting youth employment. The session entitled "How to promote youth employment?", organised by BI, will discuss the impact of payroll tax subsidies, the experience of the 90-day job trial programme and the most important labour market changes affecting youth employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conference session on youth employment is part of the international project "Youth Employment PartnerSHIP", funded by the EEA and Norway Grants. The main goal of this research project, started at the end of 2018, is to measure the effectiveness of youth labour market programmes in Hungary, Italy, Poland and Spain.
