Are there common financial issues in Europe which could be solved with a technical helping hand?

Open Knowledge Foundation’s expert and blogger Lucy Chambers set out in the summer of 2012 on the adventurous journey to find out how the work of budget monitoring organisations, investigative journalists, academic researchers and think-tanks differs in the various countries of East-Central Europe.

While visiting Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany Lucy searched for organisations that use technology in their work with data and tried to capture on film their projects, the issues they target, the achieved impact and also put together a list of desired changes that would benefit the work of these organisations.

The Budapest Institute’s Our money! initiative was one of the selected projects. Based on this BI experts talked about their experiences of obtaining, handling and visualising data.
