Local cooperation for reaching NEET - practical lessons of an experiment

Type

Conference

Date02/06/2022
Description

This online conference will share the lessons learned from testing a method of facilitating outreach to young people who are not in education, training or employment (NEET).

In July and August 2020, the Budapest Institute organised workshops in 30 local districts of the Public Employment Services on how to reach young NEETs and promote the Youth Guarantee (YG) Programme, as part of the Youth Employment PartnerSHIP (YEP) project. The workshops aimed to facilitate the meeting of local experts and foster their cooperation in reaching out to NEETs.

The lessons learned from the pilot programme will be presented by Márton Csillag and Ágota Scharle, senior researchers at BI, with interventions by  trainers who organised and delivered the district workshops.

The online conference will also include a brief update on the reinforced YG Programme, by Judit Temesszentandrási of the EU Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.

The online conference is primarily intended for county and district-level implementers of the YG Programme of the Public Employment Services. However, it may also be useful for other professionals working with disadvantaged youth.
