Personalized public employment services seem to be a good investment, depending on the existing institutional framework and the number of unemployed. We analysed remedial interventions for long-term unemployment in five EU countries.
As a result of immigration waves the wages of native workers increase and the likelihood of losing their job gets smaller. This is due to the fact that they can move to better paid positions. In our report we summarized the research experience from European countries from the past thirty years.
